Introducing Potted Plant Wellness
Hello, I am Nathan Paulus and this will be my blog. Welcome to Potted Plant Wellness. I want to use this first post to introduce this venture of mine and give you some context for what to expect from it.
So,
why potted plant?
A potted plant is limited and in very visible ways defined by its limitations, most notably a container and the simple need for water and light. The plant has the will to grow, it strives, fundamentally and without hesitation it strives to grow. Some plants have such sensitivity that they require diligent attention and care to thrive while others can be almost entirely ignored. Both will grow and both will be equally charming and beautiful. We admire the strength and ferocious nature of the hearty plants, but don’t we really cherish and love the sensitive ones that we have worked so hard to care for? Don’t we need to have them both? Haven’t we been both of them at one point or another in any one of our containers?
I believe in health and healing, I believe they come in many shapes and forms. I believe in striving and growth. I believe that it takes effort, perseverance, discipline, a willingness to let go of fear, a willingness to be wrong and confused, a willingness to cultivate, a willingness to learn and be simple, a willingness to be renewed, a willingness to be helped, a willingness to love and be loved to have health, healing and growth.
Hence, the potted plant. Fed by water, earth and light.
There is a lot of food for growth out there. Mine comes in the forms of some of the Physical / Spiritual arts (Yoga, Tai Chi, Qi Gong), Body Work and Medicine, Philosophy, Music, Entertainment, Family, Friends and all the Relationships from the big heavy ones to over the counter chit chat.
This blog is for growth and health. The observations will be presented through the lens of those things which have so fundamentally contributed to my own growth, and are a part of my container and my plant.
